As a former staff member of a Firefighter Training Center, our owner has continued to have New Generations Counseling Center serve the first responder community on a statewide basis.
New Generations Counseling Center is contracted with various health insurance companies to continue to serve first responders and firefighters. There are those in the community that say they service first responders but the question happens to be whether the therapist or staff are culturally competent to service first responders. Our staff have met with various first responder agencies and have been vetted (continuously) to meet high standards of treatment for first responders.
New Generations Counseling Center has extensive background and knowledge of working with CAL-FIRE staff and their families. Our culturally competent staff know all about medical calls, staffing patterns, hiking, cutting line, incidents, 24 hour on incidents, 24 hour down, scheduling, family, marriages, relationships, stress on the job, and most importantly being away from loved ones for long periods of time.
While employee assistance programs (EAP) for first responders are limited to a small amount of sessions, we will work with your regular health insurance to continue your therapy services if we can. Additionally, should your significant other and or children need therapy, we are proud to delivery therapy through telehealth (for obvious reasons) through your regular health insurance carrier.
